The highlight of this incredible find is the center section - a piece of Italian table runner, circa 1790. Made of exquisite antique silk with velvet embroidery, if you examine it closely, you'll find a touch of candle wax still on the fabric: evidence of tapers that once lit the villa's dining table.
A treasure for history and romance lovers alike: a rare, beautiful connection to the past. Muted gold and greens, backed in velvet and adorned with new tassel and braid trim, all hand sewn. Approximately 19"L x 19" W.
As with any antique, due to the age of the textile, there are some areas of wear on the silk center piece.
