Antique French Ribbon Petitpoint Pillow, circa 1869

The sofa is pretty, but you're just a bit tired of it. Well, sometimes all it takes is one dramatic accent to shake things up.

Here we have a dramatic pillow anchored by an antique French silk piece, which was originally part of the decorative border in a bed linens ensemble.

The French silk textile has a jet background, covered with a stunning embroidered design in shades of rich caramel, brown and rust. The piece is outlined with bronze braid and rust petitpoint; and to complete the drama, a snazzy ball fringe in soft caramel has been added.

This pillow totally "ups the ante" in the style game. Black and rust, backed in black velvet, adorned with new braids and tassel trim, all hand sewn. 24"L x 12"W.

As with any antique, there are some small areas of wear.
